The Dallas Morning News announces new Android app.(Brief article)


The Dallas Morning News (The News) has introduced its new application for Android smart phones and 7-inch tablets, the newspaper announced on Tuesday.
This new application will bolster the publication's ability to deliver high-quality local content to diverse audiences and innovative solutions to advertisers. The application can be downloaded through Android Market.
The addition of the Android app, along with The News' previously released iPhone and iPad versions, is expected to drive The News' growing audience as it continues to expand into the emerging digital marketplace.
The News said that the key features on all of its apps include offline reading; ability to save and share articles via e-mail and social networks; photo galleries and videos; horizontal and vertical reading; and simple search among others.
Print subscribers of The Dallas Morning News will receive full access to digital platforms, including the new Android app, for the all-inclusive price of USD33.95 per month. Readers can also subscribe to specific digital devices/smart phones that best suit their needs.
The comprehensive digital bundle, which includes the eEdition of The News, dallasnews.com, as well as iPad, iPhone and Android apps, is available for USD16.95 per month.
