Fed: Sacking a volunteer fire fighter illegal - Andrews

Workplace Relations Minister KEVIN ANDREWS says it's illegal for a boss to sack an
employee involved in voluntary firefighting.

Mr ANDREWS says employees and employers should band together .. and it would be totally
inappropriate for any employer to sack someone because they're out fighting a fire.

Mr ANDREWS has told Sky News the law's enforceable by a fine of up to 10 thousand dollars.
