Solution to Microsoft Mail Microsoft Exchange Client And cc:Mail Connectivity for Windows CE-based devices
LAS VEGAS, Nov. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- MicroBurst, Inc. announces the availability of its Virtual Courier(TM) messaging application for devices based on the Microsoft(R) Windows(R) CE platform. Virtual Courier allows users of Windows CE to access their LAN based Microsoft Mail, Microsoft Exchange Client, and cc:Mail based systems while they are away from their office.
"Windows CE-based devices are designed for mobility -- MicroBurst has delivered a mobile solution for connecting to LAN e-mall systems," said Mark Frederiksen, President of MicroBurst.
Virtual Courier allows users to upload mail messages from their LAN system via modem and read them on the Windows CE-based mobile device. The user can also download messages to the LAN e-mall system that were created on the Windows CE-based device or forward/reply to mail messages that were previously received. Virtual Courier keeps the mail messages lists synchronized between the mobile Windows CE-based device and the user's own desktop in-box. Virtual Courier also transfers LAN based e-mail address books to the Windows CE-based device.
MicroBurst's commitment to Windows CE development extends above and beyond messaging applications. "MicroBurst is developing extensions to the Virtual Courier messaging application for additional message platforms as well as productivity and entertainment titles for the Windows CE platform. Based upon our experience developing for Windows CE and other handheld platforms, only Windows CE reduces the critical time-to-market through its use of standard, high-productivity, development tools," says Mark Frederiksen.
At COMDEX, MicroBurst will be demonstrating Virtual Courier at the Microsoft Pavilion and Windows CE hardware vendor booths. MicroBurst Inc. develops Windows-based and handheld applications for the domestic North-American market as well as for European and Asian markets. Its applications have sold over 12.5 million copies in 16 different languages, including handheld device connections to LAN e-mail systems, Windows-based clipboard and file format conversions, desktop integrated applications, and games.
