Thousands of Victorian VCE students will find out how their studies have paid off this
week, the main editorial in the Herald Sun newspaper said.

VCE results will be released today electronically, while snail mail results will not
be delivered until Tuesday.

"It is worth remembering at this stressful time that - good or bad - VCE results do
not determine success in life.

"Many of the world's most brilliant men and women were not very good at school."

Of more than 50,000 students, 49,030 or 96.9 per cent were awarded a Victorian Certificate
of Education, similar to last year's result, while 21 boys and 10 girls got the highest
possible mark of 99.95.
