Midtown Republicans
The Midtown Republican Club will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at CafeEclectic on North McLean. The guest speaker will be John Ryder. Hewill discuss redistricting. The public is welcome. Call 728-4211 formore information.
No free days in March
Just a reminder that "Free Tuesdays" will not be observed at theMemphis Zoo during the month of March. This decision was made andcommunicated through the zoo's admission policies in spring 2010 inan effort to preserve a positive experience for guests when theyvisit the zoo during spring break. The zoo looks forward to resumingTennessee Tuesday beginning April 5.
At that time, on each Tuesday at 2 p.m., Tennessee residents areadmitted to the Memphis Zoo free when they present a Tennessee photoID. Additional admission policies on Tennessee Tuesday include:
Persons ages 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult age 21or older.
Adults age 21 and older may accompany up to five children ages 16and under.
Photo ID with proof of age and Tennessee residency are requiredfor free admittance. Tennessee driver's license, current Tennesseecollege or Tennessee military photo ID will be accepted.
5K Relic Race
In association with the Memphis Runners and Track Club,Chucalissa's annual 5K Relic Run is scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday atthe C.H. Nash Museum at Chucalissa, 1987 Indian Village Drive.
The race course winds through the scenic woods around the C. H.Nash Museum at Chucalissa and the T. O. Fuller State Park. Childrenare welcome, as well as strollers and wheelchairs. All proceeds fromthe Relic Run will benefit youth group programming at the C.H. NashMuseum.
Awards will be presented to the top three finishers in allcategories, and all participants will receive an event T-shirt.Register online at racesonline.com or call the museum at 785-3160for more information.
Race to Erase 5K
The Senior Bridge Builders of Central High School are hosting the10th annual Race to Erase Racism on Saturday . The purpose of theRace to Erase Racism is to bring people of all races and backgroundstogether to support a cause greater than themselves.
Registration will take place at 8 a.m. The race begins at 9 atthe corner of Goodlett Street and Southern Avenue.
Early registration is $10, if paid before March 1, and $15 ifpaid the day of the race. All checks should be made payable toCentral High School.
